TED2011: Anthony Atala

Could it be true? Antony Atala has opened up the eyes of the medical field to the growth and regeneration of tissue and organs. He was one of the minds that discovered how stem cells can be derived from a woman's umbilical cord. His speech being given at the TED 2011 conference is titled "Threads of Discovery", and will contain videos of his bio-engineers producing an artificially made organ. Atala shows that by stacking wafers of organ tissues through a printer-like mechanism we can successfully reproduce a kidney, nerve, heart and a few others. Although this process has taken over twenty years to develop, new advancements are being made frequently.

Finished At Last

After a terrible mishap, I have finally finished the first part of my project. It's a challenge setting the correct skin tone when your picture's source of lighting is a blue computer screen. The real challenge now is learning to animate the image, a trade I should have learned years ago.

Quite different...but still recognizable.
